Study reveals safety measure by UAE government has brought solidarity among citizens

In the weekly media briefing about the coronavirus pandemic status in the United Arab Emirates, the official spokesperson of the UAE community sector Mona Khalil said that the steps taken to contain the spread of the Covid-19 virus in the country and the safety precautions taken by the authorities have guaranteed a 97 percent cohesion rate in among the citizens.

The recent study was conducted by the Ministry of Community Development to gauge the impact of the ongoing virus attack. Khalil reassured the residents and further stressed on the steps taken by the UAE officials throughout the pandemic which have contributed in boosting a sense of safety, security and comfort among the community members by 98 percent.

She highlighted that those who were a part of the survey confirmed that the country addressed the pandemic situation and threat in a highly distinguished manner. The ones who believed that the citation was very efficiently handled in the nation comprised 96 percent especially for those who believed that the authorities made sure to support small and medium sized enterprises.

She emphasised on the initiative ‘Together we Recover’ saying that the officials promoted the idea of a sense of community by effectively managing the crisis. The leadership of the nation did not panic during the difficult times and was focused on drafting strategies and launching new, effective initiatives to perform national and humanitarian roles, she added.

"The pandemic has revealed the positive aspects of the Emirati community, most notably, the social cohesion of its members and volunteering represents this cohesion," Khalil said while highlighting the coronavirus has changed the way the world function and forced leaders to take tough calls as well.

She also credited the residents who have cooperated in following the various covid-19 precautionary measures such as social distancing, wearing masks in public places among others. Khalil added that the entire Emirati community has faced some challenges due to the ongoing pandemic.

She explained that the fact that many weddings are being held online proves that people are committed towards the precautionary measures that have been set by the authorities in order to protect the health and families.

The top official also added that this highlights that the citizens and the government official have been constantly working together to ensure that the community is working with proper safety around it. The UAE has shown commitment towards prioritising the needs of the senior citizens above everything else and has been determined to provide all forms of support and healthcare to people, she stressed.

She concluded her address by saying that the UAE government has also launched a programme titled ‘National Coronavirus Home Testing for People of Determination’ for citizens as well as residents. Through this programme, the residents guarantee free coronavirus tests to the elderly citizens and also offer vaccine administration at their homes.
