SSSDprovides flu shots to elderly at home across Sharjah

The Sharjah Social Services Department (SSSD) recently announced the launch of a drive to provide free flu shots to elderly people living in the city. The flu shots will be administered to the city's senior population in their homes.

In the first phase of the initiative, the SSSD aims to reach all elderly in the areas of Al Hamriya, Al Dhaid, Al Bataeh, Al Madam, Kalba, Dibba Al Hisn, Khorfakkan and Mleiha in the city. Furthermore, the department is seeking to run the drive until the end of January 2021 such that all senior people receive the necessary flu shot for the protection of their health during this critical period.

The SSSP is carrying out the initiative in cooperation with the Ministry of Health and Prevention with the aim to provide the senior population with in-home convenience amid the ongoing pandemic circumstances. The authorities have launched the initiative to fulfill the health requirements of the elderly in the city while they are at home to ensure the highest levels of safety and precautions are maintained.

People can book their flu shot with SSSD by calling the toll-free helpline number 800700.
