New regulations, procedures on travel for ‘Taaleem’ employees, teachers

Several measures and precautions have been announced on the travel of workers in the educational field of the Emirates Foundations for School Education (Taaleem) as they set to start the second-semester vacation. The announcement has come in line with other initiatives in the United Arab Emirates to contain the spread of coronavirus.

A circular was released by the foundation which said that travel restrictions are implemented for those traveling from other countries. The citizens, as well as residents, are allowed to travel to countries in low-risk categories while they are not allowed to permanently travel to high-risk countries.

This is with regards to the efforts taken by the UAE government so that public, as well as individual health, can be secured. The circular also made it very clear that all the measures that are required for people to travel outside the country should be born by their own money and support and the foundation will not be responsible for it.

In return too, the party has to bear the cost of quarantine if tested positive for the virus and will also have to abide by a specific date that the quarantine requires. The circular also stated that upon returning from the travel be it air, water, or land, the employee must quarantine for the given duration.

The quarantine should be done in his place of residence and if needed, work can be started remotely in cooperation with the other staff members by subjecting them to medical examinations and also by following preventive measures which have been recommended by the health authorities.

To rejoin the institution, the concerned employee will have to obtain a disease-free certificate and present it to the direct boss and all other employees working at the institution. They should also beforehand inform their immediate seniors of their travel plans and the length of stay and the destination.

Employees are also bound to disclose if a family member is traveling outside and for how long will they be staying out of the country. Those who have completed the given or advised quarantine period will be prohibited from working in the institutions and incomplete quarantine will also result in unpaid leave.

The circular was issued by the Ministry of Education and it describes all the details regarding the coronavirus precautionary measures during the pandemic. The circular also said that those violating the quarantine practice or any of the measures set by the authorities will have legal implications.

The direct manager will be responsible for providing the names of the employees returning from abroad and will also take note of the duration and the destination of the stay. The employee should also make sure to keep on updating the list of countries, regions, and territories permitted to travel based on the changes made in line with the virus spread.
