NCEMA Director General receives first dose of Covid-19 vaccine

Obaid Rashid Al Shamsi, the Director-General of the National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority (NCEMA) has received the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine. This is in accordance to the planning of Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) to get all frontline health workers vaccinated with the Covid-19 vaccine.

Al Shamsi noted that the top priority of the UAE leadership is to deliver maximum safety and security to the frontline health professionals and to protect them from any health risks that they may encounter while on duty. He said, “In alignment with the leadership’s vision, the availability of this safe, effective vaccine will contribute to save and protect lives.”

The UAE has authorized emergency use of Coid-19 vaccine to ensure protection of health workers who come in close contact with Covid-19 patients. This is in line with the laws that allow a faster review of licensing procedures.
