Health Ministry launches online platform to spread awareness about COVID

The Ministry of Health, UAE launched an awareness platform called "Your Health Our Priority." This platform will also have information about COVID-19 infection, prevention, and cure.

The platform is part of the government's action directed to prevent the spread of novel coronavirus, spread factual information about the disease and check the spread of misinformation about the infection.

The platform will have a health database, with WHOs recommendations, precautions, and guidelines. The platform will also have instructions from the UAE health department.

The platform will also guide patients to health facilities based on symptoms of flu or the common cold.

The multilingual service allows patients to interact with "virtual doctor," who will help with information related to COVID symptoms. Concerned users can pose questions about travel dates, contact details, and other relevant queries.

The information portal will have an awareness tab, the latest information about COVID, and a real-time number of COVID patients in the country.

There will be information about doctors on call, pre, and post-diagnosis care.

However, this portal will not have information about emergency cases. In such cases, concerned people should visit the nearest health clinic to undergo tests. People may call the national ambulance number 998.

Those who want to help the government fight the pandemic can enter their information on the porta and mention what kind of services they would be interested in volunteering.

The portal has a FAQs tabs, populated with frequent queries and answers on relevant aspects of COVID.

Awad Saghir Al Ketbi, Assistant Undersecretary of the Support Services Sector, speaking about the platform, said that "virtual doctor" is the most innovative model in preventive health care. It will also allow people to avoid health centre and get treated remotely.

The Assistant Undersecretary reiterated the ministry's proactive steps taken to mitigate the pandemic. The practices implemented are best practices, and the use of an electronic platform adds further advantage to spread awareness.
