DHA Director-General inspects new COVID-19 testing centre in Jumeirah 1 Port Majlis

Humaid Al Qutami, Director-General of the Dubai Health Authority (DHA), recently visited Jumeirah 1 Port Majlis, one of the three newly-launched additional COVID-19 testing centres in the emirate. During his visit, he asserted that the increase in demand for COVID-19 testing services among people in the emirate reflects the community's awareness and understanding of the prevailing virus and their keenness in containing its spread by following the necessary precautionary measures.

The DHA has launched three new COVID-19 testing centres - Al Hamriya Port Majlis, Al Rashidiya Majlis, and Jumeirah 1 Port Majlis, in collaboration with the Community Development Authority Dubai, as part of the efforts of the Emirati authorities to combat the disease.

With these three new testing centres, the total number of DHA COVID-19 testing centres has increased up to five, including two previously-established centres in Al Nasr Clubs and Al Shabab Al-Ahli.

Addressing the occasion, Al Qutami also spoke about the confidence of DHA in the community members and their commitment toward adhering to COVID-19 precautionary measures issued by the authorities for the health and safety of the public.

He further stated that the authority's keenness and commitment to ensure that the people have ease of access to COVID-19 testing services anywhere in Dubai led to the expansion of these testing centres across various parts of the emirate. Through these centres, people across Dubai will be able to undergo examination procedures amid the pandemic, particularly those living in high-density residential areas.

While people can easily get their PCR tests performed through any of the five centres, they must fulfill the registration requirements before the test by booking an appointment through toll-free number of the DHA - 800342. Operating seven days a week from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm, each centre works at a capacity of 550 examinations per day.

The three new centres were established in Dubai in record time while following the best international protocols and the highest requirements issued by the concerned authorities.
