Covid 19 International Tourists Enjoy Dubai With Safety Measures

Dubai is witnessing a surge in tourists from across the world, despite ongoing concerns over the Omicron COVID-19 variants. According to media reports, several tourists are also using their layover in Dubai to travel around the city and explore Expo 2020. Dubai continues to be one of the few international tourism hubs that are welcoming international travellers during the holiday period.

Expo 2020 Dubai has emerged as one of the most significant attractions in the city inviting people from all walks of life. The global fair's main square has been embellished with Christmas trees and other holiday decorations to mark the festive celebrations.

Brazilian tourist Livya Feho is one such traveller who used her 24-hour layover in Dubai to visit the Expo 2020.

On being questioned about concerns over the Omicron variant and rising COVID-19 cases in the UAE, she said she took her booster dose and has been adhering to all precautionary measures to stay safe from the virus.

In the year 2020, Dubai, the Middle East's business and tourism hub, received 5.5 million visitors, despite global lockdowns. By the end of October 2021, the city welcomed 4.88 million, as per the official data.

Even as new infections in the UAE are rising in recent days, the authorities are ensuring all possible measures to enhance the safety and wellbeing of all community members. On Wednesday, the UAE reported 665 new COVID-19 cases.

Keeping safety measures in mind, tourists continue to enjoy the glitzy hotels and nightlife in the country.

Speaking with the media, Gabriela Pourova, a tourist from the Czech Republic, stated that she needed only a PCR test to land in Dubai.
