The UK Ambassador to the UAE was recently hosted by the Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA) in order the UAE could share with him the latest developments surrounding the success of the third phase of the COVID-19 vaccine clinical trials.

Mr. Patrick Moody along with his accompanying delegation was briefed on the processes for conducting the third phase of the clinical trials for the COVID-19 vaccine in the UAE. The UAE team demonstrated the safety and effectiveness of the vaccine.

Abu Dhabi is the key host of the clinical trials and is aligned to UAE’s prominent role it is playing in finding a solution to end the pandemic. The clinical trials have been overseen by the World Health Organisation and the UAE’s Ministry of Health and Prevention. UAE, with its vision to help humanity, has the mind to share the vaccine formula with other nations, as the need would arise.

Dr. Marwan Al Kaabi, Acting Group Chief Operations Officer at SEHA has attributed the success of the third phase of the trial to the joint efforts of Abu Dhabi’s ecosystem of partners. Many countries are trying to find the quickest solution to the pandemic but none has come close enough to declaring a solution that is giving full coverage against the virus.

Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA) took the British Ambassador and delegation around for a tour through SEHA’s specialised centre that is being used to conduct clinical trials at Abu Dhabi Exhibition Centre.

The center is managed by the network’s expert medical practitioners. Developed by Sinopharm CNBG and G42 Healthcare, a subsidiary of G42 Group, the inactive vaccine’s clinical trials are a collaboration between the Department of Health - Abu Dhabi and SEHA.
