Abu Dhabi airport greets Lebanese travellers with special gifts

Lebanese passengers were recently presented with special gifts upon their arrival at the Abu Dhabi International Airport. They arrived at the airport by Middle East Airlines flight ME418 which was significantly the first flight of the national flag-carrier airline of Lebanon from Beirut to the UAE since March when the international travel ban was announced in the wake of the Coronavirus pandemic.

To mark the occasion of resumption of flight services of Middle East Airlines from Lebanon, Abu Dhabi airport's wellness ambassadors greeted the passengers with a warm welcome to the airport. Amid the fear of pandemic transmission, Abu Dhabi International Airport has launched a range of safety and precautionary measures to ensure the safety of the passengers. These measures include providing hand sanitisers and personal protective equipment such as masks and gloves to passengers, encouraging to maintain social distancing, informing them about testing and isolation procedures, and ensuring regular cleaning and sanitisation of public surfaces.

In addition, the airport authorities have also installed a new touch-less elevator technology along with SterixGate sterilization booths that are designed to disinfect a person within three seconds to ensure their safety. Among other new technologies and precautionary measures introduced by the authorities at the airport are thermal scanning cameras inbuilt with the latest artificial intelligence technology and cameras with heat motion sensors and facial recognition capabilities.

Domestic and international commercial flights are gradually resuming at the Abu Dhabi International Airport as the UAE government has begun reopening its economic activities as part of the post-pandemic recovery process. In view of this development, Middle East Airlines has also resumed its flight services between Lebanon's Beirut and the UAE's capital Abu Dhabi.
