Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH) Chairman Abdulla bin Mohamed Al Hamed on Sunday visited Mubadala Health’s booth at The Galleria Al Maryah Island where COVID-19 vaccines are being administered to the public. The new COVID-19 vaccination booth was set up by Mubadala Health in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Global Market in line with the ongoing efforts to vaccinate the maximum population of the country against the disease. The new booth is working towards encouraging members of the community to receive the COVID-19 vaccine in order to contain the spread of the virus.

During his visit, Abdulla Al Hamed was welcomed by Mubadala Health CEO Hasan Jasem Al Nowais and Dhaher bin Dhaher Al Mheiri, CEO of ADGM’s Registration Authority. Al Hamed took a tour of the COVID-19 booth and reviewed the services being offered by the authorities from Sunday to Thursday from 10 am to 7 pm.

He also viewed the capacity of the booth as it administered vaccine doses to five different people at the same time. During the procedure to administer the vaccine, healthcare professionals at the booth ensure that pre-scheduled appointments are arranged in order to maintain social distancing to curb the spread of the virus.

Following his visit, Al Hamed lauded the efforts and leading role showcased by the healthcare sector of Abu Dhabi and the commitment demonstrated by Mubadala Health in providing quality medical services and simultaneously participating in the national fight against the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.

He underlined the dedicated efforts made by the authorities to raise awareness about COVID-19 vaccines among the community members with the aim of protecting their health and welfare, especially for vulnerable groups such as elderly people and those with chronic diseases.

Al Nowais also expressed pleasure in Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Hamed's visit to the vaccination booth at the Galleria Al Maryah. He further expressed pride in being a part of the UAE's national vaccination programme, noting that it showcases the leadership's ability to counter the pandemic with an agile and effective response along with the collaboration between the public and private sectors.

"By leveraging Mubadala Health’s infrastructure across Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, and working with other partners such as Abu Dhabi Global Market, we can facilitate widespread access to COVID-19 vaccinations for the most vulnerable members of our society. In addition to the vaccination centres located in our network of facilities, we are keen to operate the platforms located outside our facilities to expand the scope of vaccination services against the COVID-19 virus," Al Nowais added.

Dhaher Al Mheiri expressed gratitude towards Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Hamed for his continuous support and supervision in the vaccination drive. Al Mheiri further asserted his commitment to providing COVID-19 vaccinations to Abu Dhabi Global Market’s business community and to the visitors of Al Maryah Island. He underlined the UAE's leading role worldwide in demonstrating positive support to the economy through its extensive and effective vaccination campaign strategy. In addition to supporting the economic recovery, the UAE is also working on protecting its population from the COVID-19 virus.

"We look forward to further collaboration with Mubadala Health as we continue to play a role in safeguarding the UAE’s economy and the wellbeing of the national community," he noted.
