"My father is 97 years old, and he decided to take the vaccine, like our relatives. We visited the Neama Health Centre, where he was medically checked up before getting the first dose of the vaccine," his son said.

He further urged all community members to take the vaccine in order to themselves and their families. He also advised people to not listen to rumours or fake news related to the COVID-19 vaccination campaign and obtain their information from official and reliable sources.

Since the launch of the national vaccination campaign in the UAE, the country's leadership and relevant authorities has called on the public to take the COVID-19 vaccine with the aim of protecting their health and curbing the disease. The UAE government is seeking to vaccinate more than 50 percent of the population within the first quarter of 2021.
