1.3 million COVID-19 tests conducted in the UAE. Recoveries doubled in 2 weeks

Uae Conducts 1 3 Million Coronavirus Tests

Hospitals, specialist health centers, and the 14 drive-through testing centers in the United Arab Emirates have conducted 1.3 million COVID-19 tests, as for 5th May. The number of recoveries doubled in the last two weeks, jumping from 1,443 on 21st April to 3,153 on 5th May, about 122 persons per day.

The UAE is continuing to test the largest number of people as a preventive measure to combat the spread of the virus and ensure the fastest return to normal following the pandemic. The Abu Dhabi Health Services Company, SEHA, announced the launch of a new screening center in Mussafah, which aims to conduct 335,000 examinations to residents and workers in the region in the next two weeks.

The center completes and supports the efforts of the healthcare infrastructure already operative in Mussafah, including the national testing center in Basin 42, next to the bazaar, and the national testing facility in Basin 1, also known as the "Mussafah Old Clinic," previously restored by SEHA to receive 7,500 people daily.

On Saturday, 2nd May, SEHA inaugurated a new screening center in Al Nahyan Camp, in Abu Dhabi, open from 9 am to 2 pm for the entire Holy Month of Ramadan.

All these facilities are equipped with the latest technologies that enable the medical and technical personnel to provide healthcare to citizens and residents within five minutes, without leaving their car, while meeting the highest international standards.

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, in early April also launched the National Home Testing Programme for People of Determination to ensure all segments of the community have adequate access to testing facilities.

The UAE leadership, in concert with the medical and scientific community, developed the best practices and therapeutic protocols to overpass the health emergency.

Recently, the Ministry of Economy granted a patent for the development of an innovative and promising treatment for COVID-19 patients using stem cells, developed by a team of doctors and researchers at the Abu Dhabi Stem Cell Center, ADSCC.
